Protein Family: Hormones, Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Endocrine System
Description:
Exendin-4 is a 39-amino-acid peptide found in venom from the Gila monster Heloderma suspectum. It is a member of the glucagon-secretin family of peptide hormones and neuropeptides. Exendin-4 is a potent agonist of the GLP-1 receptor and hence a potent stimulator of insulin secretion. This antibody is specific for exendin-4 with no cross-reactivity with GLP-1, GLP-2 (human) or glucagon coated on ELISA wells.
Alternate Names: Exenatide
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250222 binds to exendin-4 when coated in ELISA wells and reacts specifically with exendin-4 in solution giving a Ka of 7.0x10E8 in an inhibition ELISA. The binding between Product Cat. No. 250222 and exendin-4 is disrupted by 0.1 M glycine pH 3. Product Cat. No. 250222 (as biotinylated detection antibody) forms a sandwich ELISA pair with Product Cat. No. 250244 (as capture antibody) for measuring exendin-4, giving a detection limit of 10 pmol/l in an unoptimized buffer assay. E: 1:500
Accession No.: P26349
Antigen: Synthetic exendin-4 coupled to carrier and adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
