Quantity: 200 µl
Background:
In immunoelectrophoresis against human EDTA plasma a single precipitin line is obtained in the beta-2 region. The antiserum does not react with any other protein component of human serum or plasma. In precipitating techniques for the identification and quantitative determination of properdin factor B in body fluids. The presence of non-precipitating antibodies has not been assayed. This does not exclude the use of the antiserum in more sensitive techniques if proper controls are included.
Isotype: Goat Polyclonal
Source: Properdin factor B is a heat-labile serum protein active in the alternative complement activation pathway. It is binding to the C3b component of complement. The protein has a molecular weight of 92,000 and its mean concentration in human plasma is 200 ?g/ml. It has been isolated as a homogenous protein for use in antiserum production. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Specificity:
Precipitating polyclonal Goat anti-Serum to Human properdin factor B
Reactivity: human
Cross Reactivity:
The antiserum does not cross-react with any other Human plasma proteins as tested in geldiffusion techniques. Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to plasma proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail, however in double radial immunodiffusion a weak reaction with Mouse has been observed.
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
