Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of theserine/threonine protein kinase family. This kinase was shown to beactivated rapidly during Fas-mediated apoptosis in Jurkat cells. Inresponse to Fas receptor ligation, it phosphorylates TIA1, anapoptosis-promoting nuclear RNA-binding protein. The encodedprotein is a strong inducer of lymphocyte apoptosis. Two transcriptvariants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.Other variants exist, but their full-length natures have not yetbeen determined.
Other Names:
Fas-activated serine/threonine kinase, FAST kinase, FASTK
Gene Name: FASTK
Gene ID: 10922
Primary Accession: Q14296
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
