Description:
Fibrinogen has a double function of yielding monomers that polymerize into fibrin and acting as a cofactor in platelet aggregation. Fibrinopeptide B is cleaved off the beta chain of fibrinogen by thrombin during fibrinogen conversion to fibrin.
