Protein Family: CAM Ligands, Receptors and Channels, Cell Adhesion Molecules
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cell Motility, Cell Communications
Description:
Fibronectin is an adhesive glycoprotein with a molecular mass of 440 kDa. It is believed to be important for the formation of a provisional matrix that promotes cell adhesion and migration during wound healing. Its age-dependent increase in plasma and tissues may be accompanied in pathological states, especially in tumor growth, by its proteolytic breakdown by a number of neutral proteases. It has also shown that several of its proteolytic breakdown products exhibit unexpected and mostly harmful biological activities. This antibody is highly specific for fibronectin. There is no evidence for cross-reactivity with other connective tissue proteins (vitronectin, elastin, collagen, laminin). This antibody reacts with human fibronectin. Other species have not been tested.
Alternate Names: FN, Cold-insoluble globulin, CIG
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250270 can be used in ELISA, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining of frozen PLP-fixed sections of bovine and human tissues. The antibody inhibits cell adhesion to fibronectin mediated by the heparin-binding domain. It can be used to probe fibronectin conformation and to quantitate plasma fibronectin in a sandwich ELISA with antibody Product Cat. No. 250271. E: 1:4,000; WB: 1:100; IHC: 1:200
Accession No.: P02751
Antigen: Bovine corneal endothelial cells
Format: Each vial contains 0.2 mg IgG in 0.2 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at 4°C. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
