Protein Family: Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Folliculin; Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome protein; BHD skin lesion fibrofolliculoma protein; FLCN; BHD
Accession No.: Q8NFG4, NP_659434
Description:
Folliculin (FLCN) plays a role in the pathogenesis of an uncommon form of kidney cancer through its association with an inherited disorder of the hair follicle (fibrofolliculoma). Defects in FLCN are the cause of Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome (fibrofolliculoma) and primary spontaneous pneumothorax (lung collapse).
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 mg of lyophilized peptide. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 1494.6 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200154 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human folliculin. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C57H99N21O24S1
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
