Protein Family: Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Folliculin (FLCN) plays a role in the pathogenesis of an uncommon form of kidney cancer through its association with an inherited disorder of the hair follicle (fibrofolliculoma). Defects in FLCN are the cause of Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome (fibrofolliculoma) and primary spontaneous pneumothorax (lung collapse).
Alternate Names: Folliculin, Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome protein, BHD skin lesion fibrofolliculoma protein, FLCN, BHD
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: Q8NFG4, NP_659434
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human folliculin.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by saturated sodium sulfate precipitation.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
