AC-BP13591c
Background:
The pituitary glycoprotein hormone family includesfollicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, chorionicgonadotropin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone. All of theseglycoproteins consist of an identical alpha subunit and ahormone-specific beta subunit. This gene encodes the beta subunitof follicle-stimulating hormone. In conjunction with luteinizinghormone, follicle-stimulating hormone induces egg and spermproduction. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variantsencoding the same protein.
Other Names:
Follitropin subunit beta, Follicle-stimulating hormone beta subunit, FSH-B, FSH-beta, Follitropin beta chain, FSHB
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13591c was selected from the Center region of FSHB/FSH. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: FSHB
Gene ID: 2488
Primary Accession: P01225
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
