AC-BP8165a
Background:
Fucokinase belongs to the GHMP (galacto-, homoserine, mevalonate and phosphomevalonate) kinase family and catalyzes the phosphorylation of L-fucose to form beta-L-fucose 1-phosphate. This enzyme catalyzes the first step in the utilization of free L-fucose in glycoprotein and glycolipid synthesis. L-fucose may be important in mediating a number of cell-cell interactions such as blood group antigen recognition, inflammation, and metastatis.
Other Names:
L-fucose kinase, Fucokinase, FUK
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8165a was selected from the N-term region of human Fucokinase. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: FCSK (HGNC:29500)
Gene ID: 197258
Primary Accession: Q8N0W3
Other Accession: NP_659496
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
