Background:
This gene encodes a member of the type II interferon family. The protein encoded is a soluble cytokine with antiviral, immunoregulatory and anti-tumor properties and is a potent activator of macrophages. Mutations in this gene are associated with aplastic anemia.

Applications: Non-neutralizing and binding (ELISA) antibody. NOTE: This antibody only works in a capture ELISA assay. It does not recognized plastic-bound y IFN but it works very well in capture ELISA when used as the first, plastic bound antibody (and then developed with polyclonal antiserum).

Working Dilution: In capture ELISA, using 100ng/well immobilized mAb, 100pg of y IFN will give a reading of 0.15 O.D. Neutralization titers vary with the virus assay used. Titers have to be determined by the investigator.
