Background:
The product of this gene belongs to the ligand-gated ionicchannel (TC 1.A.9) family. It encodes the gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA) A receptor which is a multisubunit chloride channel thatmediates the fastest inhibitory synaptic transmission in thecentral nervous system. This gene encodes an epsilon subunit. It ismapped to chromosome Xq28 in a cluster comprised of genes encodingalpha 3, beta 4 and theta subunits of the same receptor.Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, butonly one is thought to encode a protein.
Other Names:
Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor subunit epsilon, GABA(A) receptor subunit epsilon, GABRE
Gene Name: GABRE (HGNC:4085)
Gene ID: 2564
Primary Accession: P78334
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
