Background:
This gene encodes a mitochondrial enzyme that belongs to the amidinotransferase family. This enzyme is involved in creatine biosynthesis, whereby it catalyzes the transfer of a guanido group from L-arginine to glycine, resulting in guanidinoacetic acid, the immediate precursor of creatine. Mutations in this gene cause arginine:glycine amidinotransferase deficiency, an inborn error of creatine synthesis characterized by cognitive disability, language impairment, and behavioral disorders.
Research Area: Cancer, Metabolism, Signal transduction
Synonyms:
AGAT, AT, GATM, GATM, Glycine amidinotransferase, Glycine amidinotransferase, mitochondrial, L-arginine:glycine amidinotransferase, mitochondrial, Transamidinase
Immunogen: Fusion protein of human GATM
Swissprot: P50440
Gene Accession: BC004141
Purification Method: Antigen affinity purification
Buffer: PBS with 0.05% NaN3 and 40% Glycerol, pH7.4
Concentration: 1.26 mg/mL
Dilution: IHC 1:50-1:300, ELISA 1:5000-1:10000
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.
