Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Cell Growth and Death
Description:
Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is a neurotrophic factor that enhances survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake. Defects in GDNF may be a cause of Hirschsprung disease type 3 (HSCR3). This genetic disorder of neural crest development is characterized by the absence of intramural ganglion cells in the hindgut, often resulting in intestinal obstruction.
Alternate Names: GDNF, Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor, Astrocyte-derived trophic factor, ATF, hGDNF
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P39905
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human GDNF.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 25% glycerol, 1 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
