Background:
Gamma-glutamyltransferase-1 (GGT1; MIM 612346) is amembrane-bound extracellular enzyme that cleaves gamma-glutamylpeptide bonds in glutathione and other peptides and transfers thegamma-glutamyl moiety to acceptors. Autocatalytic cleavage of theGGT1 precursor polypeptide produces a heavy chain and a light chainthat associate with each other to form the functional enzyme. Lightchain-only GGTs, such as GGTLC2, contain a region corresponding tothe GGT1 light chain, but they lack the membrane-anchoring heavychain region (Heisterkamp et al., 2008 [PubMed 18357469]).[suppliedby OMIM].
Other Names:
Gamma-glutamyltransferase light chain 2, Gamma-glutamyltransferase-like protein 4, GGTLC2, GGTL4
Gene Name: GGTLC2
Gene ID: 91227
Primary Accession: Q14390
Other Accession: NP_954578.2
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
