Description:
The growth hormone-releasing factor (GHRF, GRF, or GHRH) is a hormone from the glucagon family produced in the hypothalamus. The preproprotein is cleaved into a 44-aa factor that stimulates growth hormone release from the adenohypophyse. GHRF is available under the names Groliberin (Pharmacia) and Somatrel (Ferring). Geref (Serono), a synthetic acetylated form of GHRF[1-29], is also used for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency.
