Description:
Glioma-associated oncogene (GLI1) acts as a transcriptional activator. GLI1 regulates the transcription of specific genes during normal development. GLI1 plays a role in craniofacial development and digital development, as well as development of the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. GLI1 mediates sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling and thus cell proliferation and differentiation.
