Background:
GSK3B, a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family, participates in the Wnt signaling pathway. It is implicated in the hormonal control of several regulatory proteins including glycogen synthase, MYB and the transcription factor JUN. GSK3B phosphorylates JUN at sites proximal to its DNA-binding domain, thereby reducing its affinity for DNA. The protein is inhibited when phosphorylated by AKT1 or ILK1. Expressed is detected in testis, thymus, prostate and ovary, and weakly in lung, brain and kidney.

Other Names:
Glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta, GSK-3 beta, Serine/threonine-protein kinase GSK3B, GSK3B

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8121b was selected from the C-term region of human GSK3B . A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: GSK3B (HGNC:4617)

Gene ID: 2932
Primary Accession: P49841
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
