Background:
GSK3B, a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family, participates in the Wnt signaling pathway. It is implicated in the hormonal control of several regulatory proteins including glycogen synthase, MYB and the transcription factor JUN. GSK3B phosphorylates JUN at sites proximal to its DNA-binding domain, thereby reducing its affinity for DNA. The protein is inhibited when phosphorylated by AKT1 or ILK1. Expressed is detected in testis, thymus, prostate and ovary, and weakly in lung, brain and kidney.
Other Names:
Glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta, GSK-3 beta, Serine/threonine-protein kinase GSK3B, GSK3B
Target/Specificity:
This GSK3 beta (GSK3B) antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 4-34 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human GSK3 beta (GSK3B).
Antigen Region:
4-34
Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide
Gene Name: GSK3B (HGNC:4617)
Gene ID: 2932
Primary Accession: P49841
NCBI Accession: NP_001139628.1;NP_002084.2
Other Accession: P18266; Q9WV60
Format: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
