Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a guanylyl cyclasefound predominantly in photoreceptors in the retina. The encodedprotein is thought to be involved in resynthesis of cGMP afterlight activation of the visual signal transduction cascade, allowing a return to the dark state. This protein is a single-passtype I membrane protein. Defects in this gene may be a cause ofX-linked retinitis pigmentosa.
Other Names:
Retinal guanylyl cyclase 2, RETGC-2, Guanylate cyclase 2F, retinal, Guanylate cyclase F, GC-F, Rod outer segment membrane guanylate cyclase 2, ROS-GC2, GUCY2F, GUC2F, RETGC2
Gene Name: GUCY2F
Gene ID: 2986
Primary Accession: P51841
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
