Background:
The epsilon globin gene (HBE) is normally expressed in theembryonic yolk sac: two epsilon chains together with two zetachains (an alpha-like globin) constitute the embryonic hemoglobinHb Gower I; two epsilon chains together with two alpha chains formthe embryonic Hb Gower II. Both of these embryonic hemoglobins arenormally supplanted by fetal, and later, adult hemoglobin. The fivebeta-like globin genes are found within a 45 kb cluster onchromosome 11 in the following order: 5'-epsilon - G-gamma -A-gamma - delta - beta-3
Other Names:
Hemoglobin subunit epsilon, Epsilon-globin, Hemoglobin epsilon chain, HBE1, HBE
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence is selected from aa 70-83 of HUMAN HBE1
Gene Name: HBE1
Gene ID: 3046
Primary Accession: P02100
Other Accession: P02103; NP_005321.1
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
