Description:
The hepatitis B virus large surface antigen protein (HBV-HBsAg) is located on the surface of the hepatitis B virus and plays a role in viral attachment to cell surface receptors. This interaction determines the species specificity and liver tropism, and induces virion internalization predominantly through caveolin-mediated endocytosis.
