Background:
This gene belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitouslyexpressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). ThehnRNPs are produced by RNA polymerase II and are components of theheterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) complexes. They are associatedwith pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNAprocessing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem toshuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteinshave distinct nucleic acid binding properties. The protein encodedby this gene, which binds to one of the components of themultiprotein editosome complex, has two repeats of quasi-RRM (RNArecognition motif) domains that bind to RNAs.
Other Names:
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A/B, hnRNP A/B, APOBEC1-binding protein 1, ABBP-1, HNRNPAB, ABBP1, HNRPAB
Gene Name: HNRNPAB
Gene ID: 3182
Primary Accession: Q99729
Other Accession: NP_112556
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
