Background:
Multiple receptor subtypes of serotonin neurotransmitterswith multiple physiologic functions have been recognized. The5-HT-2 receptors mediate many of the central and peripheralphysiologic functions of serotonin. Cardiovascular effects includecontraction of blood vessels and shape changes in platelets;central nervous system effects include neuronal sensitization totactile stimuli and mediation of hallucinogenic effects ofphenylisopropylamine hallucinogens.
Other Names:
5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2B, 5-HT-2B, 5-HT2B, Serotonin receptor 2B, HTR2B
Gene Name: HTR2B
Gene ID: 3357
Primary Accession: P41595
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
