Background:
This gene encodes a serine protease. The protein has beenlocalized in the endoplasmic reticulum and interacts with analternatively spliced form of mitogen-activated protein kinase 14.The protein has also been localized to the mitochondria withrelease to the cytosol following apoptotic stimulus. The protein isthought to induce apoptosis by binding the apoptosis inhibitoryprotein baculoviral IAP repeat-containing 4. Nuclear localizationof this protein has also been observed. Alternate splicing of thisgene results in two transcript variants encoding differentisoforms. Additional transcript variants have been described, buttheir full-length sequences have not been determined. [provided byRefSeq].

Other Names:
Serine protease HTRA2, mitochondrial, High temperature requirement protein A2, HtrA2, Omi stress-regulated endoprotease, Serine protease 25, Serine proteinase OMI, HTRA2, OMI, PRSS25

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13705a was selected from the N-term region of HTRA2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: HTRA2

Gene ID: 27429
Primary Accession: O43464
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
