Introduction:
Apolipoprotein E (Apo-E) is a protein involved in the metabolism of fats in the body of mammals. A subtype is implicated in Alzheimer's disease and cardiovascular diseases.It is encoded in humans by the gene APOE.Apo-E belongs to a family of fat-binding proteins called apolipoproteins. In the circulation, it is present as part of several classes of lipoprotein particles, including chylomicron remnants, VLDL, IDL, and some HDL.Apo-E interacts significantly with the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR), which is essential for the normal processing (catabolism) of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins.
Principle of the Assay:
This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-Apolipoprotein E polyclonal antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Apolipoprotein E polyclonal antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Apolipoprotein E amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O. D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Apolipoprotein E can be calculated.

For quantitative detection of Apolipoprote in E in human serum, plasma, body fluids, tissue lysatesor cellculture supernatants.
Storage and Expiration:
Store at 2-8℃ for 6months, or at -20℃for 12 months.
