Description: Recombinant human IFNα1b protein with molecular weight 19.4 kDa.
Background:
IFN-alpha, a multifunctional cytokine important in the innate immune system, has been proposed to play a major pathogenic role in the development of systemic lupus erythematosus in humans and mice. IFNA bound complement component receptor-2 (CR2) in the same affinity range as other CR2 ligands. Asokan et al. (2006) proposed that the roles of CR2 and IFNA in development of autoimmunity may be mechanistically linked to pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus.Interferon-alphaand -beta (IFN-alpha/beta)and thetumour suppressor p53 are essential for the induction of apoptosis in cancerous cells and in antiviral immune responses, respectively. The transcription of the p53 gene is induced by IFN-alpha/beta, accompanied by an increase in p53 protein level. IFN-alpha/beta signalling itself does not activate p53; rather, it contributes to boosting p53 responses to stress signals.
Purity: >95% by HPLC & SDS-PAGE
Endotoxin level: < 0.1 ng/μg (1 EU/μg) by LAL test
Reconstitution: Reconstitute with sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O.
Dimers: < 1% by SDS-PAGE
Storage buffer: Each vial contains 10 mM Phosphate bufferand 200 mM NaCl(pH7.0) without preservatives.
Storage and Expiration:
Ship at 4℃. Upon receipt, store at -20℃ or -80℃ for 2 years. After reconstituting, it can store at 4℃ for a week, it is recommended to add 0.1% HSA or BSA for long term. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
