Description: Recombinant full length human IL-11 protein.
Background:
The human Interleukin-11 (IL-11) gene, consisting of 5 exons and 4 introns, is located on chromosome 19, and encodes a 23 kDa protein. IL-11 is a member of the IL-6-type cytokine family, distinguished based on their use of the common co-receptor gp130. Signal specificity is provided by the IL-11R alpha subunit. It is a unique growth factor derived from cells making up the HM. Although cloned based on IL-6-like bioactivity, IL-11 and IL-6 have distinct biologic profiles. IL-11, like many recently cloned growth factors, has pleiotropic effects on hematopoietic cells presumably depending on the cytokine and cellular environment into which it is introduced. Takeuchi, Y et al. indicate that IL-11 is a stimulatory factor for osteoblastogenesis and bone formation to conserve cortical bone, possibly by enhancing BMP actions in bone. IL-11 may be a new therapeutic target for senile osteoporosis.
Synonyms:
Interleukin-11, IL-11, Adipogenesis inhibitory factor, AGIF, Oprelvekin, IL11
Purity: >98% by HPLC
Endotoxin level: < 0.1 ng/μg (1 EU/μg) byLAL test
Reconstitution: Reconstitute with sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O.
Dimers: < 1% by SDS-PAGE
Storage buffer: Each vial contains 10 mM Phosphate bufferand 200 mM NaCl(pH7.0) without preservatives.
Storage and Expiration:
Ship at 4℃. Upon receipt, store at -20℃ or -80℃ for 2 years. After reconstituting, it can store at 4℃ for a week, it is recommended to add 0.1% HSA or BSA for long term. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
