Description: Recombinant human IL-9 protein with molecular weight 14 kDa.
Background:
Interleukin 9, also known as IL9, is a cytokine (cell signalling molecule) belonging to the group of interleukins. It is a multifunctional cytokine secreted by TH2 lymphocytes. Besides its role during immune responses, its growth factor and antiapoptotic activities on multiple transformed cells suggest a potential role in tumorigenesis. Indeed, IL-9 overexpression induces thymic lymphomas in mice, and IL-9 production is associated with Hodgkin disease and HTLV-I transformed T cells in humans. Moreover, in vitro, dysregulated IL-9 response can lead to autonomous cell growth and malignant transformation of lymphoid cells associated with constitutive activation of the Jak/STAT pathway. IL-9 has effects on lymphocytes, mast cells, and resident lung cells. It is associated with allergic inflammation and immunity to extracellular parasites, and IL9 or IL9-responsive cells appear to have roles in Th1/Th17-mediated inflammation and regulatory T-cell (Treg) responses.
Synonyms:
Interleukin-9, IL-9, Cytokine P40, T-cell growth factor P40, IL9
Purity: >95% by SDS-PAGE
Endotoxin level: < 0.1 ng/μg (1 EU/μg) by LAL test
Reconstitution: Reconstitute with sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O.
Dimers: < 1% by SDS-PAGE
Storage buffer: Each vial contains 10 mM Phosphate bufferand 200 mM NaCl(pH7.0) without preservatives.
Storage and Expiration:
Ship at 4℃. Upon receipt, store at -20℃ or -80℃ for 2 years. After reconstituting, it can store at 4℃ for a week, it is recommended to add 0.1% HSA or BSA for long term. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
