Description: Recombinant full length human P53 protein with molecular weight 53 kDa.
Background:
P53 (also known as protein 53 or tumor protein 53), is a 393-amino acid protein, and its molecular weight is about 53KDa.It is crucial in multicellular organisms, where it regulates the cell cycle and, thus, functions as a tumor suppressor that is involved in preventing cancer. As such, P53 has been described as "the guardian of the genome" because of its role in conserving stability by preventing genome mutation. It is an important key element which controls cell cycle progression in response to cellular stress like DNA damage. Its ability to act as transcriptional activator or repressor links transcription and cell cycle control.
Synonyms:
Cellular tumor antigen p53, Tumor suppressor p53, Phosphoprotein p53, Antigen NY-CO-13, TP53, P53, LFS1, TRP53
Purity: >95% by SDS-PAGE
Storage buffer: Each vial contains 20 mM Tris-HCl, 150 mM NaCl (pH8.0) with 0.2% NaN3.
Storage and Expiration:
Ship at 4℃.Upon receipt, aliquot and store at -20℃ or -80℃ for long term. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
