Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Folding, Sorting and Degradation; Signaling Molecules and Interaction; Immune System
Description:
Interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) is produced by macrophages in three forms: alpha-2a, alpha-2b and alpha-2c. This cytokine has antiviral and antiproliferative properties that explain its use as anticancer drug (Roferon-A, Roche and Intron-A, Schering-Plough). This antibody recognizes human IFN alpha-2a and alpha-2b.
Alternate Names: Interferon alpha-2, Interferon alpha-A, LeIF A, IFNA2
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250100 recognizes IFN-alpha 2a and IFN-alpha 2b. E: 1 ug/ml; WB: 1 ug/ml
Accession No.: P01563, NP_000596
Antigen: Recombinant human IFN-alpha 2a protein
