Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc part of the IgG molecule. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal monkey serum a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG. No precipitation reaction is obtained with purified IgA, IgM, and IgG/Fab fragments. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG in monkey serum or other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of monkey IgG from serum or plasma.
Isotype: Rabbit Polyclonal
Source: Highly purified normal IgG isolated from pooled rhesus monkey serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Reactivity: Monkey
Cross Reactivity:
The antiserum does not cross react with any other component of the Monkey immunoglobulin system. Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Precipitation reactions have been observed with IgG in Serum of other old-world Monkeys, including Cercopithecus, Cynomolgus and baboon. The antiserum may also react with IgG of other species as has been observed for Chimpanzee and man.
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
