Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc part of the IgG molecule. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal swine serum a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG. No precipitation reaction is obtained with purified IgA, IgM, and IgG/Fab fragments. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG in swine serum or other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of swine IgG from serum or plasma. This antiserum is not intended for use in non-precipitating antibody- binding or other highly sensitive assays. For such use labelled reagents, meeting the necessary specificity and performance requirements are available.
Isotype: Goat Polyclonal
Source: Highly purified normal IgG isolated from pooled swine serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Specificity:
Precipitating polyclonal Goat anti-Serum to Swine IgG, Fc specific.
Reactivity: Swine
Cross Reactivity:
The antiserum does not cross-react with any other component of the Swine immunoglobulin system. Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail.
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
