Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of the IgG molecule. It includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in goat serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG; as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal goat serum; to prepare an immunoadsorbent for the production of Ig-free goat serum, plasma or non-Ig preparations.
Isotype: Rabbit Polyclonal
Source: Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled goat serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Reactivity: Caprine
Cross Reactivity:
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has been tested in double radial immunodiffusion with the following results: Bovine ᄆ Cat ᄆ Chicken - Dog - Guinea Pig -Hamster - Horse - Human ᄆ Mouse - Monkey - pigeon - Rat - Sheep + Swine - Turkey -
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
