Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of IgG. It includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. In immunoelectrophoresis against human serum a single characteristic precipitin line with a spur is usually obtained. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in human serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG; as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal human serum; to prepare an immunoadsorbent for the production of Ig-free human serum, plasma or non-Ig preparations. This antiserum is not intended for use in non-precipitating antibody-binding or other highly sensitive assays. For such uses labelled and unlabelled cytochemical and immunoassay reagents meeting the necessary additional specificity and performance requirements are available.
Isotype: Goat Polyclonal
Source: Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled human serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Specificity:
Precipitating polyclonal Goat anti-Serum to Human IgG, heavy and light chains
Reactivity: human
Cross Reactivity:
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. This antiserum has been tested for cross-reactivity in double radial immunodiffusion with the following results: Bovine - Dog + Horse ᄆ pigeon - Sheep - Cat + Guinea Pig + Monkey ++ Rabbit + Swine + Chicken - Hamster ᄆ Mouse ᄆ Rat + Turkey -
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
