Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of the IgG molecule. It includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in rabbit serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG; as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal rabbit serum; to prepare an immunoadsorbent for the production of Ig-free rabbit serum, plasma or non-Ig preparations.
Isotype: Goat Polyclonal
Source: Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled rabbit serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Specificity:
Precipitating polyclonal Goat anti-Serum to Rabbit IgG, heavy and light chains.
Reactivity: rabbit
Cross Reactivity:
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has been tested in double radial immunodiffusion with the following results:Bovine – Dog + Hamster + Mouse Rat - Turkey - Cat + Duck - Horse + Monkey + Sheep - Chicken – Guinea Pig + Human + pigeon - Swine +
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
