Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunit of the IgG molecule including all subclasses. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal rat plasma and serum, a characteristic precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG. No reaction is obtained with purified IgA, IgM and IgG/Fab fragments or any other serum protein. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG; as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal rat serum; to prepare an immunoadsorbent for the production of Ig-free rat serum, plasma or non-Ig preparations.
Isotype: Goat Polyclonal
Source: Purified normal IgG, including all known subclasses, isolated from pooled rat serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Specificity:
Precipitating polyclonal Goat anti-Serum to Rat IgG, Fc specific.
Reactivity: rat
Cross Reactivity:
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail, however in double radial immunodiffusion a reaction with Mouse has been obtained.
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
