Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunit of the IgG molecule. The antiserum contains antibodies to subclass-specific determinants as well as to determinants shared by two or more subclasses of IgG. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal rat plasma, serum, and immunoglobulin fractions, no reaction is obtained with IgA, IgM and IgG/Fab fragments or any other serum protein. In immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical staining of IgG at the cellular and subcellular level of appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates; to demonstrate circulating IgG antibodies in serodiagnostic microbiology and autoimmune diseases; to identify a specific antigen using a reference antibody of rat origin known to be of the IgG isotype in the middle layer of the indirect test procedure. This immunoconjugate is not pre-diluted. The optimum working dilution of each conjugate should be established by titration before being used. Excess labelled antibody must be avoided because it may cause high unspecific background staining and interfere with the specific signal. Working dilutions are usually between 1:20 and 1:80, depending on the method used.
Isotype: Goat Polyclonal
Source: Purified normal IgG, including all subclasses, isolated from pooled rat serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: FITC-coupled purified hyperimmune goat IgG, in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2).
Specificity:
Fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated IgG fraction of polyclonal Goat anti-Serum to Rat IgG, Fc specific.
Reactivity: rat
Cross Reactivity:
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this product has not been tested in detail.
Applications: ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen), (In)direct immunofluorescence
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
