Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the subclasses IgG2a and IgG2b. It does not react with ther subclasses of IgG, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in rat serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical staining for the detection of IgG2 at the cellular and subcellular level by staining of appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates; to identify and measure IgG2 in rat serum or other body fluids. This immunoconjugate is not pre-diluted. The optimum working dilution of each conjugate should be established by titration before being used. Excess labelled antibody must be avoided because it may cause high unspecific background staining and interfere with the specific signal. Working dilutions are usually between 1:20 and 1:80, depending on the method used.
Isotype: Goat Polyclonal
Source: Pools of purified homogenous IgG2a and IgG2b isolated from rat serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: TRITC-coupled purified hyperimmune goat IgG, in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2)
Specificity:
Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate-conjugated IgG fraction of polyclonal Goat anti-Serum to Rat IgG2ab, subclass specific.
Reactivity: rat
Cross Reactivity:
This immunoconjugate is not species-specific since inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antisera to immunoglobulins. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail, however in double radial immunodiffusion a weak reaction with Mouse has been observed.
Applications: ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen), (In)direct immunofluorescence
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
