Quantity: 200 µl
Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc part of the IgG molecule. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal human serum a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG. No precipitation reaction is obtained with purified IgA, IgM, and IgG/Fab fragments. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgM in human serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of human IgM from serum or plasma.
Isotype: Rabbit Polyclonal
Source: Highly purified normal IgM isolated from pooled human serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Reactivity: human
Cross Reactivity:
The antiserum does not cross-react with any other component of the Human immunoglobulin system. Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail, however in immunoelectrophoresis a strong cross reaction with Serum of Rhesus Monkey, Cynomolgus and baboon has been observed.
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
