Quantity: 200 µl
Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc part of the IgM molecule. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal monkey serum a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgM. No precipitation reaction is obtained with purified IgG, IgA, and IgG/Fab fragments
Isotype: Rabbit Polyclonal
Source: Highly purified normal IgM isolated from Rhesus monkey serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Reactivity: Monkey
Cross Reactivity:
The antiserum does not cross-react with any other component of the Monkey immunoglobulin system. Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Precipitation reactions have been observed with IgM in Serum of other old-world Monkeys, including Cercopithecus, Cynomolgus and baboon. The antiserum may also react with IgM of other species as has been observed for Chimpanzee and man.
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
