Interleukin-2 (IL-2 or T-cell growth factor) is an immunomodulatory cytokine produced by stimulated T-cells. IL-2 activity is signaled via interaction with the IL-2R receptor. Recombinant IL-2 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 134 amino acids with a MW of 15,517 Da. Recombinant human IL-2 has a Ser residue instead of Cys at position 126.

Recombinant Human IL-2 is fully bioactive when compared to standard. The ED50 as measured by the dose-dependent proliferation of CTLL-2 cells is 0.64 ng/ml.

Purity > 90% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 50 ug protein lyophilized in 10 mM sodium citrate pH3.0. Reconstitute with 0.5 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
