Protein Family: Enzymes; Transporters
Pathway and Disease: Infectious Diseases; Membrane transport; Cell growth and Death
Description:
Avian influenza A virus nucleoprotein (influenza A NP) encapsidates the negative strand viral RNA, protecting it from nucleases. The encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the ribonucleoprotein (RNP) and serves as template for transcription and replication. The RNP needs to be localized in the nucleus to start an infectious cycle, but is too large to diffuse through the nuclear pore complex. NP comprises at least 2 nuclear localization signals and is responsible of the active RNP import into the nucleus through the cellular importin alpha/beta pathway.
Alternate Names: Influenza A, Influenzavirus A, Nucleoprotein, Nucleocapsid protein, Protein N, NP
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: O92784
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the influenze A virus nucleoprotein.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
