Quantity: 200 µl
Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to insulin as tested by ELISA and immunoblotting. No reaction was obtained with other swine serum proteins. The immunoconjugate is intended for use in different types of highly sensitive fluorescence immunoassays on appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates. This product is not pre-diluted. The optimum working dilution of each product should be established by titration before being used.Working dilutions are usually between 1:10 and 1:40.
Isotype: Guinea Pig Polyclonal
Source: Insulin is a hormone produced by the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. It plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrate by its effects on the storage of glycogen in the liver, the conversion of carbohydrate to fat, and the oxidation of glucose by the peripheral tissues. Insulin has a molecular weight of 6,000 and contains two peptide chains linked by two disulphide bonds. The hormone is isolated from porcine pancreas. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Form: Purified hyperimmune guinea pig IgG, in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2).
Specificity:
Fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated IgG fraction of polyclonal Guinea Pig anti-Serum to Swine insulin
Reactivity: Swine
Cross Reactivity:
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to mammalian proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. The degree of cross-reactivity is also dependent on the concentRations of the reactants and the sensitivity of the assay arrangement. This antiserum fraction has not been tested for cross-reactivity.
Applications: ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen), (In)direct immunofluorescence
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
