Background:
This gene encodes a nuclear protein with a JmjC domain.JmjC domain-containing proteins are predicted to function asprotein hydroxylases or histone demethylases. This protein wasfirst identified as a putative phosphatidylserine receptor involvedin phagocytosis of apoptotic cells; however, subsequent studieshave indicated that it does not directly function in the clearanceof apoptotic cells, and questioned whether it is a truephosphatidylserine receptor. Multiple transcript variants encodingdifferent isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided byRefSeq].
Other Names:
Bifunctional arginine demethylase and lysyl-hydroxylase JMJD6, 11411-, Histone arginine demethylase JMJD6, JmjC domain-containing protein 6, Jumonji domain-containing protein 6, Lysyl-hydroxylase JMJD6, Peptide-lysine 5-dioxygenase JMJD6, Phosphatidylserine receptor, Protein PTDSR, JMJD6, KIAA0585, PTDSR
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP14160b was selected from the C-term region of JMJD6. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: JMJD6 (HGNC:19355)
Gene ID: 23210
Primary Accession: Q6NYC1
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
