Background:
Bence Jones protein is a monoclonal globulin protein or immunoglobulin light chain found in the urine, with a molecular weight of 22-24 kDa. The proteins are immunoglobulin light chains (paraproteins) and are produced by neoplastic plasma cells. They can be kappa (most of the time) or lambda.
Isotype: Rabbit Polyclonal
Immunogen:
Human kappa Bence Jones Proteins
Form: Serum containing 0.1% sodium azide
Specificity:
The polyclonal antibody has an excellent staining pattern on routinely processed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. After prolonged fixation, the reactivity of the antibody can be further improved by pronase pretreatment of the tissue. The antibody has a wide specificity: surface antigens as well as hidden determinants, free and bound kappa chains. In flow cytometry the antibody shows a good conformity with other well-known kappa antibodies.
Reactivity: human
Applications: Flow cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, suitable for frozen and paraffin sections, Protease digestion with pronase or pepsin is optional.
Working DIlution: 1:50 – 1:100
Positive Control:
Tonsil
Storage: 2-8C for immediate use, or at -20C (aliquot)
