Background:
The Shaker gene family of Drosophila encodes components ofvoltage-gated potassium channels and is comprised of foursubfamilies. Based on sequence similarity, this gene is similar tothe Shaw subfamily. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to thedelayed rectifier class of channel proteins and is an integralmembrane protein that mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ionpermeability of excitable membranes. It generates atypicalvoltage-dependent transient current that may be important forneuronal excitability. Multiple transcript variants have been foundfor this gene.
Other Names:
Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily C member 4, KSHIIIC, Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv34, KCNC4
Gene Name: KCNC4 (HGNC:6236)
Gene ID: 3749
Primary Accession: Q03721
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
