Background:
This gene encodes a member of the family of voltage-gatedpotassium (Kv) channel-interacting proteins, which belong to therecoverin branch of the EF-hand superfamily. Members of this familyare small calcium binding proteins containing EF-hand-like domains. They are integral subunit components of native Kv4 channelcomplexes that may regulate A-type currents, and hence neuronalexcitability, in response to changes in intracellular calcium. Theencoded protein also functions as a calcium-regulatedtranscriptional repressor, and interacts with presenilins.Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding differentisoforms have been described.

Other Names:
Calsenilin, A-type potassium channel modulatory protein 3, DRE-antagonist modulator, DREAM, Kv channel-interacting protein 3, KChIP3, KCNIP3, CSEN, DREAM, KCHIP3

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13839b was selected from the C-term region of KCNIP3. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: KCNIP3

Gene ID: 30818
Primary Accession: Q9Y2W7
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
