Quantity: 25 µl
Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. Most of the type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains and are clustered in a region on chromosome 17q21.2.
Synonyms:
KRT15, K15, CK15, K1CO
Isotype: Guinea pig Polyclonal (K15.2)
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide of human cytokeratin 15 (SNFHINVEESVDGQ-C), conjugated to KLH
Form: Stabilized Serum
Specificity:
MW 50,000 (pI 4.9) intermediate filament polypeptide, keratin K15, detected by immunohistochemistry in basal cells of stratified epithelia (including epidermis, tongue, esophagus, exocervix) and complex stratified epithelia (e.g. broncheal epithelium), in luminal epithelia of mammary, salivary and sweat gland. In the hair follicle, staining was restricted to the basal cell layer of the outer root sheath completely non-reactive were cells of liver, colon.
Reactivity: human, mouse
Applications: Suitable for immunofluorescence microscopy on frozen sections, immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (after microwave treatment or trypsin)
Working DIlution: 1: 100-1:200 for immunohistochemistry
Positive Control:
Sweat glands of human skin (e.g. foot sole)
Storage: 2-8C
