Quantity: 25 µl
Background:
Keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into epithelial keratins and hair keratins. This gene encodes a protein that is expressed in the inner root sheath of hair follicles. The type II keratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q13.
Synonyms:
KRT73, K6IRS3, IRT6IRS3, KRT6IRS3
Isotype: Guinea pig Polyclonal (GPK6irs3)
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide of human keratin K73 (formerly alsodesignated K6irs3; YSMLPGGCVTG SGN), coupled to KLH
Form: Stabilized Serum
Specificity:
The antiserum stains specifically the cuticle layer of the inner root sheath (irs) of the hair follicle. K73 is expressed earlier than K72. Although there is a considerable sequence homology of keratin K73 polypeptide to keratins K5 and K6, no crossreactivity was observed with Western blotting and immunofluorescence microscopy.
Reactivity: human, mouse
Applications: Suitable for immunohistochemistry on frozen sections, immunoblotting
Working DIlution: 1 : 100 - 200 for immunohistochemistry; 1 : 2,000 for Western blotting (ECL)
Storage: 2-8C
