Background:
Laminins are major proteins in the basal lamina (one of the layers of the basement membrane), a protein network foundation for most cells and organs. The laminins are an important and biologically active part of the basal lamina, influencing cell differentiation, migration, and adhesion, as well as phenotype and survival.
Synonyms:
LAM
Isotype: Rabbit Polyclonal
Immunogen:
Laminin isolated from Engelbrecht-Holm-Swarm (EHS)- mouse sarcoma
Form: Serum containing 0.1% sodium azide
Specificity:
Laminin has been found to be involved in cellular activities such as adhesion, spreading, differentiation, polarization, proliferation, locomotion, tissue invasion and chemotactic responses. No cross-reaction was obtained with human type I, III, IV and V collagen in immunoblotting, whereas the antibody reacted with a distinct band of approx. 200-220 kDa from 8M Urea extract from amnion basement membrane.
Reactivity: most mammals including human, calf, pig, mouse, rat, rabbit
Applications: Immunoblotting, Immunohistochemistry, suitable for frozen and paraffin sections. (proteolytic: pepsin)
Working DIlution: 1:25 to 1:51
Positive Control:
Skin, kidney
Storage: 2-8C for immediate use, or at -20C (aliquot)
